Who we are

SBK Repairs, trading as SBK Repairs, is the data controller for the personal information collected on this website. Contact us at repairs@sbkdirect.co.uk.

What we collect

When you book a repair: your name, email address, mobile number, return address, the phone model and repairs you choose, any notes you add, and the signature you draw on the repair agreement, and, if you choose a calibrated repair and give it, your phone passcode (kept private, used only to complete that repair, and deleted when it is complete). When your phone is with us, we may take photos of it to record its condition. We keep a record of payments and of the repair.

Why we use it

To carry out the repair you asked for, keep you updated, take payment, post your phone back and provide the warranty (our lawful basis is the contract with you), and to keep accounting and tax records (a legal obligation). We don't use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the repair: Google Firebase, which stores our booking records; Royal Mail or the courier we use to post your phone back; our payment provider when you pay; and, if you choose to message with us that way, WhatsApp or your mobile network. Each handles your data under its own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records for 6 years, as required for tax. Condition photos for 12 months after your repair, or until the warranty ends if later.

Cookies and storage

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's storage only to make the site work, for example to remember prices so the page loads quickly. If you book, it also keeps a copy of your booking, repair agreement and signature on your own device so you can open them again under My repairs. You can remove them there at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we don't need to keep it. Email us and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
